If you are looking for help with a specific program, such as LaTeX, MatLab, or Stata, you can also search for those keywords. Once you know which tutor you want to see, look at the schedule to find out when they are on shift.


Paige Amico

Paige Amico is a senior and a member of the field hockey team.  She is interested in the role data plays in economics, specifically within healthcare. Apart from academics, she loves being outside, painting, and drawing. Her favorite courses to tutor are Math 121, Math 126, Math 220, and Math 221. She can also help with Cmpu 101, Cmpu 102, Excel, LaTeX, MatLab, and R.


Nupur Balain

Courses tutored: Econ 102, Econ 201

Nupur Balain is a senior. She is an Economics and Drama double major with a passion for financial markets. She is the Co-Chair of Finance for the VSA this year. She can help with Intro to Economics, Microeconomics, Excel and STATA. 


Joseph Beaty

Joseph Beaty is a senior, particularly interested in the intersections of chemistry and biomedical research; feel free to ask him about it! If you want to laugh at something non-quantitative, come to one of his performances with HEL sketch comedy. He can also help with Excel, and organic chemistry is his favorite subject to tutor, but they're all great!


Derek Bishop

Derek grew up in New York City. His favorite city in the world is Stockholm, Sweden where he spent a semester studying translational medicine. He hopes to go to grad school after Vassar so he can eventually pursue a career in pharmaceuticals. In his free time he likes playing tennis, hiking, taking Instagram photos and rewatching episodes of Rupaul's Drag Race. He can also help with Excel.


Evan Burns

Evan’s favorite course to tutor is Organic Chemistry II, as he enjoys reaction mechanisms. He can also help with JMP. Aside from working at the Q-Center, he is a member of Vassar’s varsity lacrosse team. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering at the Poughkeepsie Early Learning Center where he works with English as a New Language (ENL) learners through Vassar’s VELLOP program. Also, this past summer Evan studied cell regeneration at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA. Additionally, he is on the pre-med track and hopes to attend medical school after his time at Vassar.


Leven Cai

Leven Cai is a chemistry tutor. He is planning to become a secondary biology teacher in the New York City school system after graduation. Actually, he's student teaching in Fall 2018 trying to complete the requirements for my certification. There's so much to learn about teaching, and he think he'll be a decently good teacher in maybe 10 years. That sounds reasonable. In his spare times, he likes to watch cooking videos (yes, he has the Tasty app), watch Netflix, and talk to friends at the Deece. If he's not doing any of these things, he's probably thinking about what will happen to the Marvel universe after Avengers 4 is over.


Jordan Chin

Jordan is an international student from Jamaica and a member of VCEMS and VHP. His favorite courses to tutor are Math 121, Math 126, Math 127 and Math 220. He can also assist with Math 221 and Econ 102. Jordan can also help with Excel. He enjoys warm weather and playing soccer with friends.


Gabbi Chwae

Gabrielle Chwae is a senior from small town Wisconsin. Now in her third year as a supplemental instructor for math, she is finishing her double major in international studies and Russian studies and a correlate in mathematics. She's actively involved in a non-profit start up organization and dance outside of her academic work. She's also very excited about her senior thesis on Soviet nationalism in Uzbekistan. Her favorite courses to tutor are Math 121 and Math 126, Math 127. Gabbi can also help with Excel and LaTeX. She has taken calculus 5 times now, and it gets better every time she takes it.


Carina Cohen

Carina is a Vassar College and Community Wind Ensemble flute/piccolo, a Vassar Majors Choir soprano, President of the Disability Rights Coalition, and a member of the Committee on Disability Issues. She is also a massive musical theater, cats, and sleeping enthusiast. And she was a psychology major until halfway through her junior year so, first-years, don't feel pressured to find the one passion to pursue your first year here! Her favorite course to tutor is Math 126, and she can also help with Excel and SPSS.


Joe Conti

Joe Conti is a senior at Vassar and a member of the Vassar Baseball team. He is from Middletown, New York. He plans on attending Medical school after Vassar so he can answer any pre-med questions you may have. His favorite subject to tutor is reaction mechanisms in Organic Chemistry. He's looking forward to another great year at the Q-Center.


Ben Costa

Ben Costa is currently a student teacher at Poughkeepsie High School, working towards a high school teaching certification. Feel free to ask him questions about the teaching certification program, student theater, the Barefoot Monkeys, or the Misc Crossword! His favorite courses to tutor are Math 121, Math 126, and Math 127, but he likes everything! He can also help with LaTeX.


Dimitri

Max Jahns

Max is a gender-queer scientist majoring in biology, especially as it relates to aquatic systems ecology. In their free time, you can usually find Max playing the ukulele, reviewing board games, or reading Neil Gaiman. They love tutoring organic chemistry, and they can also help with Excel, JMP, LaTeX, R, and Python.


Rachel Josef

Rachel Josef is a senior chemistry major and math correlate. She is also doing the dual degree engineering program. She is a math SI but also happy to help with chemistry or introductory physics. She has done a lot with Math 121 and Math 220. She likes tutoring for pretty much anything she can help with.


Ghali (G) Khalil

Ghali (G) is an international student from Alexandria, Egypt. He is on the Men's Volleyball team, but he loves to play any and all sports. He is also a big Chelsea fan- GO BLUES! His favorite course to tutor is Chem 245.


Chris Langer

Chris is a senior biochemistry major and math minor from Hoboken, NJ. This is his first year with the Q-Center. He is currently working on research in Professor Eberhardt’s lab. After graduating, he plans to attend medical school. Outside of lab and school, Chris enjoys spending time with his pets and playing the piano. His favorite subjects to tutor are General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry.


Ashley Latibeaudiere

Ashley Latibeaudiere is a senior at Vassar College. She hopes to be a research scientist in the future. She is a part of the Caribbean Students Alliance and a Vassar dance organization named Vassar Shakers. Her favorite courses to tutor are Chem 125 and Chem 108.


Gabi Mandeville

Gabi Mandeville has been working at the Q-Center for a year and a half. She is a pre-med student from New York City who hopes to pursue a career in medicine after graduating. Outside academics, she is also involved in the Vassar Haiti Project, Vassar on Tap and she plays flute in the Camerata Ensemble. She can help with Excel and SPSS. She loves a good stoichiometry or redox problem in chemistry.


Kai Matheson

Kai Matheson is a senior from Bethesda, Maryland. This is their third year working for the Q-Center. Their favorite classes to tutor are Math 228 and Econ 102. In addition, they can help with Excel, LaTeX, Mathematica, MatLab, R, and Stata. In studying both mathematics and urban studies, they are particularly interested in the ways in which quantitative methods can be applied to urban problems. Talk to them about math classes, career aspirations, and time management!


Rebeca Maria Muresan

Rebeca is many things: from Romania, lover of caffeine, consulting and carbon nanotubes. Also an amateur writer (as evident from her alliteration attempts) and proud STEMinist. At the Q-Center she serves as an Organic Chemistry Supplemental Instructor (which happens to be her favorite subject to tutor) but she can also be helpful with Calculus, any other field of Chemistry and Introductory Physics! Additionally, she is glad to serve as a resource for any students who are interested in how to put your STEM degree to use outside of academia.


Sohaib Nasir

Soccer, Debate, squash and reading. Those are some of the central interests in Sohaib's life that are not math. Math: Sohaib first discovered math at Vassar College. Before Vassar, he thought that math was reserved for those who could do 3-digit multiplication in their head, but it was Vassar’s math department that actually gave him the confidence to pursue the subject. The math department is, for him, the most wonderful thing at Vassar, and has really shaped his life in a way that he couldn't have imagined 2 years ago. Don’t doubt yourself, anyone can do math; all it really takes is confidence. He can also help you with LaTeX and Excel. His favorites are Linear Algebra and Number Theory.


Katherine Ni

Katherine is a Junior majoring in economics with a chemistry correlate. She is particularly interested in microeconomics and health economics. She lives in Shanghai, China, but grew up in Connecticut. She is involved in Pro-Health, and likes to travel in her free time. Her favorite subjects to tutor are Econ 102 and Chem 244, and can also help with Excel.


Stefano Rozental

Stefano Rozental's family is from Brazil, Portuguese was his first language, and he loves to play and watch soccer (Brazil and Chelsea). He is on the pre-med track (neuroscience major). He also loves to play guitar. His favorite course to tutor is general chemistry. He can also help with Excel.


David Stevenson

David Stevenson considers himself to be a very well-rounded person. Outside of the classroom and his hopes to be a physician, he plays basketball and he is infatuated with spreading ideas. He is the founder of the TEDxVassar org which will be on the lookout for speakers soon (a little self-plug). He also enjoys art, photography, and working with the youth. His favorite course to tutor is organic chemistry.


Evelina Stoikou

Evelina is a senior majoring in Chemistry and pursuing a Dual Degree in Engineering. She is interested in renewable energy, battery technology, and product development. Some of her favorite classes were Applied Mathematics, Organic Chemistry, and Modern Physics. She can also help with Excel and MatLab.


Sammy Stone

Sammy Stone is a senior chemistry major from Wake Forest, NC. She loves organic chemistry, coffee, and the outdoors, so you can probably find her studying in the bridge, hiking at Mohonk, or at the pool (she’s on the varsity swim team!) Sammy intends to pursue a career as a professor/academic researcher in organic chemistry, and hopes to conduct research with biomedical or environmental applications. At Vassar, she’s had incredible female mentors that have encouraged her to pursue a career in STEM, and she hopes that one day she can use her passion for chemistry to do the same for other young women. While she primarily works in the Q-center as an Organic Chemistry Supplemental Instructor (SI), she can also help with General Chemistry, Biology/Biochemistry, Calculus, and Intro Physics! Her favorite course to tutor is organic chemistry. Sammy can also help with Excel.


Ananya Suresh

Ananya has enjoyed studying linear algebra and calculus and she is especially excited to get started with mathematical writing. Being a History major as well, she is interested in the connections of STEM and Humanities. She is specifically interested in the dynamics between rationality and emotion in both Mathematics and History. Her favorite courses to tutor are Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra. She can also help with Excel and MatLab.


Logan Walker

Courses tutored: Math 121, Math 126, Math 127, Math 220, Math 221, Phys 113

Logan Walker enjoys math, pop culture, and long walks on the beach. One of his favorite parts of being a Q-tutor is talking through conceptual and geometric ideas to get a better grasp of material. He also likes working through some of the tougher problems, so feel free to bring him those questions too! His favorite courses to tutor are calculus and algebra.


Phebe Warren

Phebe Warren is a senior from Newnan, Georgia. She is majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior. After graduation, she plans to attend medical school and obtain a masters in public health. Outside of academics, she enjoys being around animals, reading, and spending time outdoors. Phebe loves tutoring Math 126 and Multivariable Calculus. She can also help with Excel, MatLab, and SPSS.


Sana Zaidi

Sana is from Marlboro, NJ. She is majoring in STS with a correlate in chemistry. She is a member of the Poughkeepsie High School Health Literacy Initiative, VRS, and VAST.
